We’re a dedicated and passionate team who work hard to make things happen.If you’re ambitious and talented, and want to shape the future of the business but don’t mind getting your hands dirty, this could be just the place for you.About the roleWe are looking for a Senior Java/Grails developer to join our Groovy and Grails team in Central London (Zone 1). As a Senior developer you will take the lead in:
  • Designing, developing, testing and deploying end-to-end solutions for our main website and our internal content management system.
  • Working with designers to convert designs into well structured, flexible HTML/CSS/Javascript.
  • Providing mentorship for junior developers.

Technical skills you’ll need
  • Well-versed in fundamental development disciplines and principles
  • 5+ years experience with Java and/or Groovy & Grails
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, and web interface development
  • Experience with Spring and Hibernate
  • SQL (ideally MySQL)
  • An understanding of scalable web applications (caching, clustering, grid computing, etc)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Git ( or similar source control )
  • Awesomeness

Nice to Have
  • Degree in computer science or similar discipline
  • Exposure to web frameworks like Lift, Play, Roo, Ruby On Rails, Django, etc
  • Payment Gateway / e-commerce experience
  • Experience of working in an agile/SCRUM environment
  • Linux scripting/admin useful
  • Experience with Flash, ActionScript or commercial web banners
